Average rating 3. 88 · 962 ratings 95 reviews | Start your review of Second Verse (Second Verse, #2) 2. 5 stars So how you do rate a book that made you wanna DNF every other minute - but at the same time you couldn't stop reading? It's been long since I've been so frustrated, aggravated and pissed the fuck off all because of a book! I loved the prequel novella, First Verse, which ends on quite the cliffhanger. Quick sum up: (view spoiler).. There should be a button for Wants To Read RIGHT NOW! So that was how excited I was for this book. I'm SO sad to report I was VERY let down!! It was just so frustrating!! Kinsy seriously just let it all go! They never really address her going to jail. She takes the blame on so much! Are you kidding me! She need some anger come on!! I was just so let down!! 3 stars was being nice cause I'm so disappointed!.. Hey guess what.. it's still not out! Supposedly she hit the submit button for Amazon on oct 31st and now she is having "problems" with Amazon releasing it.. but she refuses to release it on Nook or Smashwords... Hmmmm... It reminds me of that friend that say's "I'm on my way, I'm on the freeway" but they haven't even hit the shower yet. You know what Im talking about, we all have one. I keep checking to see if it's released just to see how long it takes. It was supposed to be released in July,.. NO SAFE HERE AT ALL! Hero is a major asshole! How does this have any ratings? The book hasn't been released, and there has been radio silence from the author since the date it was supposed to be released. I think I will cross this book off my to be read list - the author doesn't deserve my hard earned money. Ok I am not one to say anything bad about a author but when you wait forever for a book a second installment at that and the author promises one release fails to follow through then promise another release today mind you then she Deletes her fb page I tend to get a little pissed merry Christmas everyone rant is done and I will never read a other book from Emily snow.... Too many lies to even wrap my head around with this book. Or should I say, few chapters of a book, mixed with more lies. Multiple errors and weak story is the least of her worries right about now but whatever. I'm so fucking done with this author. No doubt Emily Snow can write. This book took so long in coming out that all of the angst and all of the tension of the first book was forgotten. When I started in on Second Verse everything was so rushed. And then, Kinsey. Kinsey who in the first few chapters had built a life away from Emmett, was successful and happy, turned into this needy, brainless, child/ woman immediately upon seeing Emmett. Who by the way abandoned her IN JAIL. SMH We were told Emmetts and Kinsey's feelings most of this book, and so.. After something like 23 different date changes, excuses and outright lies and 1 frankenbook, over 14 month late, Second Verse was finally released. I read it, really wish I hadn't bothered. There was no real growth in the characters and the entire story just felt forced and rushed. Along with putting out a poor excuse for a book, she has lost me as a reader by continually lying to her readers/fans and by failing to respond to, fix or refund anyone after (intentionally? ) putting out her.. The first five chapters of this book are related to the story and it was good. The rest of the chapters are a completely different book. I have been waiting forever for this book to come out only to buy an incomplete book. I'm guessing that the rest of the book is her new one called Lust Thy Neighbor. It seems like it would be good book but I want a complete book Given its long and torturous path to publication this book should have been excellent. After all Ms. Snow had more than 14 months and more then 3 dozen postponements since her initial release date to hone and perfect her manuscript. Instead the story was stilted, formulaic and riddled with editing errors. I have serious questions regarding how the author of Devoured and Tidal produced this work. My advice? Skip Second Verse and assume First Verse ends as you envisioned it. I've been waiting a long time for Second Verse! Emily Snow has always been one of my favorite authors. I want to start by saying that for me this book was better then Lucas and Sienna! I loved Emmett and Kinsey from the very beginning. If you haven't read the free novella that led up to this I encourage you so you know the back story, but it isn't 100% necessary you can dive into this one and get enough details retold from Kinsey to know exactly what's going on. We start out 8 years after First.. I expected so much more - sigh. It was weak, the characters that were so good in the first book all appear to have undergone a personality drain and where the hell is Kinsey's backbone? Seriously - the whole jail/necklace drama from the first book is not resolved and - you know what, I am going to stop now. I have put more thought into the above and more time into checking for this book for the past 15 months than has been given by the author. I refuse to waste one more minute of my life on.. Still impatiently waiting for this book to be released.... I absolutely love Emily Snow for putting First Verse into the front of the book. It's the perfect way for readers who didn't get pick it up when it first came out and helps them get the full effect of the book. That being said, Emmett and Kinsey set fire to the pages in First Verse and they continued to do so in Second Verse. Kinsey is my hero. I know she's fictional, but I had the hardest time wrapping my head around the fact she wasn't bitter. I mean with everything she has ever been through,.. 3. 5 Stars 8 years later and Kinsey has got her life on track. She has her own renovating company where she flips houses and she has a very special little man in her life. She has also mended the bridge with her father. Life seems to be looking up. She has had a few disastrous relationships but there will only ever be one man that holds her heart and he will never be. Emmet has become the famous country singer. With award winning songs and a bank account to go with it. He still has never got over.. I loved this book. It gave me the feels without being overly consuming. Emmett and Kinsey had such great chemistry. And of course Emmett is crazy sexy. I felt like I could hear his deep drawl as he spoke all his alpha male talk and see his perfect butt in perfect fitting jeans with all his country sexy swagger. I also enjoyed how both Kinsey and Emmett weren't petty and took family seriously. Neither of them were whiny or indecisive so that the story wasn't a fight to get to the end rather a.. I was so excited when I read First Verse I just wanted to dive right in to its ending. I fell hard and fast for Emmett Hudson and his deep green eyes in First Verse. The golden boy, country singer hoping to make it big. First Verse is included in this edition and Second Verse picks up eight years later long after Kenzie was released from jail. The author didn't waste any time in reuniting Kenzie and Emmett. Emmett moved on in his personal and professional life.. The full story of Kinsey and Emmett's relationship. Although it was a great romance, until it wasn't, there just seemed to be a lot of unresolved issues. How on earth did Hazel get away with all of the low down dirty things she did to Kinsey? And Kinsey's stalker should be under the jail, not walking around free! I have been patiently waiting for this book to be released. I loved the plot and the characters. I loved the chemistry between Emmett and Kinsey. I thought it was a beautifully written story. At first I though Kinsey was to forgiving but once everything unfolded I understood why. This was a great 2nd chance romance and the First Verse is at the beginning so you won't miss a thing. I don't want to give anything away, but in this book Emmet and McKinsey run into each other after eight years which is where the story begins. In book one Emmet (view spoiler) but now he finds out about it and he is determined to make up for lost time. I think this story is a really good one for when and if love should be given a second chance. Too many times women in particular go back over and over again when it's a.. I simply adored Emmett and Kinsey!! From the first time I read the prequel, First Verse to the end of the epilogue they had me rooting for their second chance! I love getting sucked into a story, and Emily Snow does that so well creating beautiful characters with heart and feeling. Emmett was tenacious and sweet and sexy and I loved his dirty mouth. Kinsey was fierce and loyal and independent and stubborn. So together there were absolutely gonna have to be fireworks! Second chance romances are.. OK, after reading #1 and tears flowing down my face #2 gets a throat punch for how Emment reunites at wedding reception. He's skeazy and hitting on Kinsey despite leaving her in jail the last time he years ago. Ick. So big fat one star off for him being mean and mad at Kinsey for not letting him know he fathered a son with her. I almost took another star off because she pretty much took his shit and was decent with him. He pretty much started hitting on her again within days and he.. Why is 5 the most stars you can give???? I am so sad I finished this book! I was purposely looking for things to do so I could stop reading, while at the same time I didn't want to put my iPad down! The sadness is from the book being over. I miss Emmett and Kinsey already. Emmett made me sigh and swoon so many times during this book. I was so addicted, I made my best friend start to read first verse immediately so we could talk about it! I can't say enough about this author and this book! This.. I waited along time for this book and actually didn't even realize it was out until a friend told me. So of course I got it. Couldn't wait to see what happened with Emmett and Kinsey. First verse left a lot of unanswered questions and second verse filled them all in. I was glad to finally get to put an end to the suspense and see the couple get their hea. It was ok. It was a little boring for me. The way it was written it had moments where I was really into it but then it dulled down and I would loose interest. It has potential but I would not have boroughs if I knew this was written so all over the place and quite honest boring at times.

Ellis, E. S. Musonda, J. M. Lichilana, I. Lowe, J. Sajiwandani, and R. J. Seal, 1973 Music Enoch Sontonga, 1897 Adopted September 14, 1973 Preceded by " Nkosi Sikelel' iAfrika " Audio sample file help v t e " Stand and Sing of Zambia, Proud and Free " is the national anthem of Zambia. The tune is taken from the hymn " Nkosi Sikelel' iAfrika " (English: "Lord Bless Africa"), which was composed by South African Enoch Sontonga, in 1897. The lyrics were composed after Zambian independence to specifically reflect Zambia, as opposed to Sontonga's lyrics which refer to Africa as a whole. History [ edit] "Nkosi Sikelel' iAfrika" started to become popular in South Africa in 1923 as a Christian hymn. Its popularity spread around Africa through churches and the tune became associated with African nationalism movements. Following the passing of the Zambia Independence Act 1964 in the Parliament of the United Kingdom enacting Zambia's independence from the United Kingdom, "Nkosi Sikelel' iAfrika" was adopted as the national anthem of Zambia, [1] replacing " God Save the Queen ", the anthem of Northern Rhodesia. Shortly afterwards, it was decided that new words set to the tune of "Nkosi Sikelel' iAfrika" would be needed for Zambia's national anthem. A national competition was held for the new words. However, none of the entries were deemed good enough to be used in full for the anthem. As a result, six of the entries were merged to create "Stand and Sing of Zambia, Proud and Free" and the entrants selected were awarded prizes. The authors credited for the composition were G. Seal. [1] In September 1973, the National Assembly passed the National Anthem Act, which legally defined the English lyrics of "Stand and Sing of Zambia, Proud and Free" as the national anthem of Zambia. The Act also made it an offence to "insult or bring into contempt or ridicule" the anthem and granted the President of Zambia the rights to prescribe how the anthem is sung and to restrict its use. [2] Criticism [ edit] In 2005, Zambian women's groups petitioned for a number of the lyrics in "Stand and Sing of Zambia, Proud and Free" to be changed because they felt that they were too male orientated. In response, it was decreed that the current lyrics did include women in context and it was stated that "Stand and Sing of Zambia, Proud and Free" was "composed of historical lyrics that reflect the country's heritage. " [3] In 2012, Professor Michelo Hansungule repeated the concerns that the Zambian national anthem was too masculine. He also argued that because it had the same tune as the national anthem of South Africa, it might have intellectual property implications and suggested that Zambia's sovereignty could be questioned.
